The First-Ever Identity Management Day is Coming Up Soon

Sure, it's another special day to remember in the industry -- but it's an important one.

Recently, the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCSA) and the Identity Defined Security Alliance (IDSA) announced the first-ever annual ‘Identity Management Day,’ an awareness event they said will take place on the second Tuesday in April.

That slates the inaugural event for April 13. They state the mission as follows:

"...to educate business leaders and IT decision makers on the importance of identity management and key components including governance, identity-centric security best practices, processes, and technology, with a special focus on the dangers of not properly securing identities and access credentials. In addition, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) will provide guidance for consumers, to ensure that their online identities are protected through security awareness, best practices and readily-available technologies."

The announcement also indicated that IDSA and NCSA will offer guidance for stakeholders at all levels, to ensure that identities of employees, machines, applications, and partners are protected through security awareness, best practices and readily-available technologies.
